Hello world (or the few facebook friends that might read this)!
I created a blog to share my experiences in New York City. I grew up in Spring, Texas.. moved to College Station, Texas before settling in Austin. Some unfortunate events happened while in Austin that led me to consider a new life in NYC. So, I did what any reasonable person would do...
- I quit my job
- I sold my stuff
- I bought a one way ticket to NYC
I am so completely excited and so incredibly anxious at the same time. I'm typically very easy going, but have found myself on the edge with nerves lately.. filled with stress and anticipation. I'll be moving in with my best friend of 13 years, Amanda and her hubby Seth. They have agreed, however crazy it may be, to let me stay with them until I get on my feet in the city. So, obviously there will be a lot of pounding the pavement for work and some serious budgeting happening within those first couple of weeks. It is my hope that I can find employment quickly and start building a routine.
But, enough about that.. I'm going to be documenting all that stuff later on down the road. I'll also be posting the fun things we do as well (which would be the purpose of the blog).
Saturday night was my last night in Austin and I did the most perfect thing I could possibly think to do on my last night: Went to a Texas Longhorn Football game with Jenny. I wish I could find the words to properly describe how much I will miss her (and UT football;) ) but thinking about not having her around just makes me sad. Thus, I will continue on with the happy parts... here a couple pictures:
We were lucky enough to see Darrell K Royal at the opening of the game! It was awesome, he came on the field and the entire crowd starting yelling, "Texas! Fight!".. gave us goosebumps! Here it is:
Well, I suppose that's about it right now. I'll be in Houston all week spending some time with my family and fly out on September 8th! Hopefully I'll keep up with this blog and have some fun things to share!
